Lawrence A. Ali is the founder of Kepler Clean Energy and Sustainability Solutions. Lawrence worked for ExxonMobil in Nigeria and the United States as a petroleum geoscientist for over twelve years, especially in areas related to methane storage in the subsurface, and rose to the post of Geoscience Manager for the Nigeria JV-East area project. His geoscience experience spans the foreland basins of South America, inland basins of the United States, the rift basins of the North Sea, and the passive margins of West Africa. He is a member of the Nigeria Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE). Lawrence holds a bachelor's degree in geology (ABU Zaria), and Masters degrees in Petroleum Geoscience (Imperial College London), Business Administration (Gies College of Business, Urbana Champaign), and Applied Economics (Johns Hopkins) respectively.

He has developed competencies in energy, spatial, and climate economics and is passionate about applying geoscience and economics skills to solving climate change mitigation and adaptation problems. Kepler which he founded is working on the application of natural and technological means to collect and store CO2 in Africa.
